A Pacific Delegation in the Colors of Diversity – Shark Tournament
The Pacific Shark Tournament began its start in the spotlight with a diverse and talented delegation, made up of players and support staff from different regions of the vast Pacific Ocean. In this exciting competition, three Fijian and two Fijian athletes come together to form a mixed team brimming with passion. They are joined by three Vanuatu women, three Vanuatu nationals, and a talented Tahitian, all ready to showcase their talent on the field.
The entire delegation arrived on Saturday October 14 and plans to return to their home islands on Saturday October 21, 2023, after a week of fierce competition.
Under the experienced leadership of Cyril JACOBE, nicknamed the « Head Turning Coach », and accompanied by two dedicated assistants, this delegation approaches the tournament with determination, ready to guide its players to victory. Fans are buzzing, eager to see how these diverse teams will compete in this exciting tournament.
The two assistants, Lorraine BANIMATAKU from Vanuatu 🇻🇺, and Ruby GOFIN, from Fiji 🇫🇯, bring their own experience as athletes. Lorraine will proudly represent Vanuatu at the Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands 🇸🇧, while Ruby defends the colors of her native island, Fiji. Their contribution to the team promises to be invaluable.
This trip to New Caledonia was made possible thanks to the initiative of Océania Tennis Federation and the International Tennis Federation. It realizes the dream of young players to compete in New Caledonia and helps to strengthen the links between these young athletes.
Throughout the tournament, real cohesion is formed, reinforced by bonds of friendship that will last well beyond the matches. Cyril JACOBE The “Head Turning Coach” is there to supervise, because the passion of a coach is unwavering and aims to create unforgettable memories in the memory of these young athletes.
